Melton competes at the East Texas State Fair in Tyler. 

Hunter is pictured with the heifer that he purchased with his 2007 calf scramble winnings.  The heifer was purchased from the Texas Limmousin Association "Run for the Roses" Futurity sale.  All 24 heifers sold that day were elgible to come to the East Texas State fair and compete for $2400 in prize money.  Nine of the 24 heifers sold returned for the show.  Hunter placed 2nd in the open show heifer class and 4th in the Run For the Roses futurity.
